Wendy Tanner became a UU in 2001. She was drawn to UU because the 7 principles are in line with her work as a social worker, and it was the first church she found in which she didn’t have to bend or suspend her beliefs or values. Wendy is an experienced leader in the non-profit world, with 19 years of experience in governance, finances, operations, and human resources. The church has become her home and family. She has served on several different committees at OUUC, including the Ministerial Search Committee, several iterations of the Space Committee, Small Group Ministry, Worship Arts, and Committee on Ministry. She was a High School group advisor and has taught Our Whole Lives to several middle and high school classes with her partner, Curtis. She also has been involved as a fundraising canvasser, a cook, and an event organizer (including Rev. Vaeni’s goodbye celebration).
