Are you looking for a place to put your political effort? There is a solar panel bill lobbying opportunity, endorsed by the Green Sanctuary Committee. This bill updates and extends the solar panel incentive program. The solar panel industry is thriving, but if the bill does not pass, the outlook is very bleak.

Briefly, you can call the offices of the members of the senate energy, environment, and telecommunications committee, and urge them to support House Bill 1048 / Senate Bill 5499. Better yet, have your friends and family who live in the committee members’ districts call or e-mail as well. A dozen calls can make a big difference.

Most of the opposition to the solar panel incentive bill comes from the Republican members including vice-chair Tim Sheldon (Shelton) and chair Doug Ericson (Bellingham). Senator Ericson has been in the news because he is working full time for the administration in Washington DC. Senator Sheldon is a Democrat but votes with the Republicans.
