We welcome and affirm people of all abilities and seek to be as inclusive and accessible as we can, recognizing that this is an ongoing process of learning and doing better.
Getting Here and Parking:
OUUC is on the number 41 bus route, if you arrive by bus there will be one section of limited sidewalk on Division street, and it is uphill through our parking lot or up a flight of stairs to the building. There is a drop off spot for Dial a Lift buses that is accessible to the building with ramps.
You will also find many disabled parking spots near ramp access to the building.
Mobility:
Our worship space, social hall, classrooms, offices, and kitchen are all accessible and on the main floor of the building. We have two ADA accessible bathrooms. We have flexible seating options in our worship sanctuary with some seats with arms for those who need them and spaces saved for wheelchair users. Ushers can move or rearrange chairs as needed if a spot that works for you isn’t available when you arrive. We do currently lack automatic door openers, but on Sunday mornings Greeters are at the doors to open them as people arrive.
Hearing Assistance:
We have hearing loops available to borrow during our worship services, just stop at the tech team table in the back of the sanctuary to get one. We also have auto captioning on a TV monitor in the front of the sanctuary.
Other Accommodations and Accessibility Needs:
For children taking part in our Religious Education programs, we will ask on our registration forms that you share their needs, allergies, and other information that will help us meet their needs as best we can. We also want to hear from adults who have accessibility or accommodation needs to participate in any of our programming. You can reach out to Rev. Sara Lewis, Director of Community and Faith Development, to discuss, and it can be confidential if you would prefer.
