So many of you have been busy supporting our democracy—voting and helping to turn out the vote, writing postcards, making calls, supporting initiatives, and candidates. I am heartened and inspired by you! And, I’ve been inspired by the groups I have connected with to help make calls and to prepare for supporting a free and fair election process.
During this historic time, you already know that it is important to stay grounded and connected. I hope you are finding ways to do so within OUUC and elsewhere.
Here are a few things that I am calling on for inspiration right now:
Inspiring words. Rep. John Lewis left some final words of inspiration that you can read here or listen to Morgan Freeman read here.
Inspiring music. Listen to the Detroit Youth Choir sing “Glory!” here.
Inspiring community. Check out the election events planned at OUUC starting on election evening, November 3 at 7:00 pm and daily after that.
What actions, words, music, and community inspire you?
See you soon.
Blessings on your week.
Rev. Mary
P.S. It is not too late to register to vote; it requires a trip to the Thurston County Auditor’s office before or on November 3. It is also a good idea at this point to deliver your ballot to a dropbox rather than mail it. If you need any help with registering or turning in your ballot, please contact me and I’ll lend a hand.
