OUUC members and friends enjoy a variety of social groups and activities. The exchange of new ideas, interests and opinions stimulates minds and builds friendships. These groups welcome newcomers.
Please browse the Events Calendar and the This Week email for meeting schedules and event dates.
COFFEE HOUR
Unitarian Universalists pride themselves on their coffee hour. We are no exception. Following each Sunday Service community members chat about the sermon, catch up with friends, and welcome newcomers. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a cup of Fair Trade coffee or tea and goodies provided by members of the congregation. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect and build lasting relationships.
Coffee hour also provides opportunities to connect with activities–to join a social justice effort, sign up to participate in an upcoming event, volunteer to help make Sunday mornings warm and welcoming, or learn about the newest efforts of one of our congregation’s groups.
BOOK CLUB
Join other members and friends of the congregation at monthly conversations based on the book selection. You are welcome to come for one or all of the sessions. We read classic and contemporary fiction and nonfiction selections. We attract both women and men, young and old, so the perspectives often differ enough to provide an arena for interesting discussions.
POWERFUL UNITARIAN GALS – PUGs
This is a women’s informal conversation gathering that meets every Wednesday at 10:30 am at OUUC. Bring your coffee and join the fun.
LADY UNITARIAN SOCIAL HOUR – LUSH
Welcomes working (or not) women to weekly drop-in gatherings. Join us for drinks and hors d’oeuvres on Tuesdays, 4:30-6 pm. We gather at different venues around town.
MIGHTY UNITARIAN GUYS – MUG
We meet every Thursday at 10 am for coffee and discussion. A manly time to discuss guy stuff. This group meets at Traditions Fair Trade Café.
THANK GOODNESS ITS FRIDAY ON THURSDAY – TGIF THURSDAYS
This is an informal group of guys that get together each Thursday 4:30-6 pm for refreshments and conversation at a local ale house of interest. To find out the meeting place each week, contact Bernie Brady and ask to be placed on the group email list. Newcomers welcome.
