OUUC members and friends continue to support the operation of Hope Village at Westminster Presbyterian Church by providing occasional meals and donations of supplies and other needed items. We also support the resident of the tiny house we built, one of eight onsite, as he pursues options for work and more independent living (including the possibility of building his own house with Habitat for Humanity). Read more about things going on at the village, including the exciting news of the arrival of three new guests and lists of ways people can volunteer to help in the latest issue of the Hope Village newsletter: AUGUST-Village-Newsletter.
After some very hard work, the folks at Build a Bus Home (BABH) have announced the availability of their shower bus, a 54-foot-long trailer with a self-contained water supply and disposal, onsite at Evergreen Christian on Black Lake Boulevard. The shower trailer is available Tuesdays and Fridays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm to anyone for the foreseeable future. It contains 12 shower stalls and other bathing facilities. The possibility of also siting the trailer on the east side of Olympia is under discussion. For further information click here. You can also talk to Bruce Wells in our congregation about the project.
