We’ll come together in community on Saturday, August 13 from 1:00-3:00 pm to remember those we’ve lost during these last several years. This is a time to remember the people, pets, and even places we have lost to all causes during the pandemic and climate crisis. We will gather outside in the North parking lot near the Memorial Garden and Columbarium.
What to bring:
A photo or other memento of the person, animal or place you wish to remember. There will be tables on which to place your item, which you can collect at the end of the ritual.
An item or piece of paper with a memory written on it that you wish to have burned. The ashes will be spread in the OUUC Memorial Garden.
Your compassionate heart.
Safety considerations:
Masks are welcome. The event will be outdoors, so masks will not be required.
The event may be crowded, so please do what you need to be comfortable regarding space and masking.
Cookies and punch will be served by the Memorial Receptions Committee. Everything will be placed in individual cups or on plates by the masked and gloved volunteers.
The OUUC building will be open for bathroom access only and for Memorial Receptions Committee volunteers. Masks are required in the building.
Volunteer to help with the Ritual of Remembrance at 1:00 pm on August 13. We need people to help with the following: set up, take down, clean up, greeters, kitchen help, provide and set up flowers, and make or bring cookies or finger foods. Contact Wendy Tanner.
