It’s 10 years since we last celebrated an OUUC birthday! It’s time to commemorate our 70th anniversary! With your help, we can send a message of hope and love to the future OUUC!
Reverend Gear’s installation ceremony as our settled minister will take place, on June 4. Right now, a team is working on adding a festive anniversary celebration, and you can join in by sharing your thoughts on our history and future. This Spring you’ll be invited to some fun activities that will capture your memories and your hopes. You’ll be able to make mementos and your own, brief video (with help from our tech team!). When you do, we hope you’ll share your thoughts about these three things:
- Leavings – what, from the past ten years, we can leave behind us;
• Takings – what, from the past ten years, is important to carry forward, and
• Dreams – what are your hopes for the next ten years of our community.
The anniversary team will compile your contributions and fly, display and show them during and after the installation ceremony. After sharing a summary with you all, we’ll bundle them up, put them in a suitable container marked “DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 2032,” and stash it in the Office for posterity. You won’t want to miss out!
