We’re coming to the end of September and our “Reduce Your Fossil Fuel Footprint” Challenge! We hope you have downloaded the spreadsheet and kept track of home and transportation energy use. If you haven’t, there’s still time to send in your scores by October 8! Give our August winner, Judith Anderegg, some competition! Congratulations as the winner two months in a row, Judith! Judith knows how to stay cool!
Many of the suggestions for fossil fuel reduction this month are one-time actions. One set of suggestions will give you some insight into your home energy budget. You can make an account with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) and see how your home and business monthly electricity and natural gas use compares with other PSE homes: average and energy-efficient. Knowledge about your monthly home energy use can be a useful guide for you to improve your habits or your home appliances, insulation, or heating and cooling systems.
Check out this month’s spreadsheet and see how many ways your fossil fuel footprints can be reduced.
It is easy to participate:
Check out the new challenge every month.
Track your environmental actions in the tracking sheet located here. (If you need a refresher on how to fill it out, you can find instructions here.)
At the end of the month, send the scanned sheet or its Google link to us (we will remind you).
We will let you know who won the prizes for the month.
